Byrrh is a French aromatized wine, first produced in the 19th century in Roussillon. It combines red wine, mistelle, and quinine for a bitter-sweet fortified profile. Once hugely popular as an aperitif, it has recently seen a revival in cocktail culture. Traditionally enjoyed on its own, it’s now used as a complex mixer.
Fruity, spiced, gently bitter with quinine.
Substitute for vermouth in Negronis or spritzes. Can be enjoyed chilled with soda or mixed with brandy-based cocktails.
