Homemade blend
Mix two parts vodka with one part coconut syrup. It lands at the right strength and sweetness.
Coconut rum
Malibu-style bottles are about half as sweet as liqueurs like Kalani. Add roughly half a barspoon of 2:1 syrup for every 10 ml.
In a shaken cocktail use the same amount. Thick, rich and alcohol-free, it adds sweetness and body, and the alcohol the liqueur brought is gone.
