Any unsweetened brand like Absolut works straight. Options at 30% ABV just make things slightly weaker.
Plain vodka with a twist
Grab regular vodka and a strip of grapefruit peel. Shake it right in or twist the oils over the top.
Plain vodka with juice
A barspoon of grapefruit juice adds a bitter edge but dilutes the drink a little.
Grapefruit liqueur
Sweet and weak. Mix half liqueur and half plain vodka, and slightly cut back any syrup.
Storage
Keep it closed and cool. The grapefruit note fades before the general citrus character: an opened bottle a year old still tastes of citrus, just not particularly of grapefruit.
