Mix two parts regular pear liqueur and one part cognac. The sweetness and strength land very close to the original. Just adding a spoonful of cognac isn't enough.
Pear eau-de-vie
A dry spirit that makes the outcome much stronger and takes away the sweetness. Pour less and add a little syrup.
Storage
The cognac base makes it steadier than most fruit liqueurs. It still fades, but over years rather than months, and an ordinary shelf is fine.
