Cold brew coffee is made by steeping coarsely ground coffee beans in cold water for 12–24 hours. Originating in Japan and popularized in the U.S., it produces a smooth, low-acidity coffee. Cold brew has a concentrated flavor that works well in cocktails and coffee-based drinks. It should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 1 week for best freshness. Some bartenders use it to make coffee tonics or layered coffee cocktails.
Smooth, rich, lightly sweet.
Mix with coffee liqueurs, whiskey, or cream for coffee cocktails. Can also be used in iced or spirit-forward drinks.
