Substitutes for Watermelon liqueur
Melon flavoring with sugar at about 20%, so a rebuild pours a syrup and a spirit in roughly equal parts. Fresh juice tastes better and dilutes the drink, which is a different trade.
Often confused with
Melon at matching strength, green rather than pink. The flavor holds and the drink turns bright green.
Better tasting and livelier, but it lengthens the drink and brings neither sugar nor strength. Both have to come back separately.
Storage
Watermelon is a fragile flavor in fruit and no sturdier in a bottle — the compounds behind it are among the first to leave. Treat an open bottle as a six-month proposition and buy accordingly.
