Cocktails with Fernet Branca liqueur

Another fernet

The only true replacement. Luxardo Fernet, at 40%, is nearest and drier still. Fernet-Branca itself has about 25 g of sugar per liter. Where fernet is the base, as in Fernet and Cola, nothing else will do.

Dry amaro

Where fernet is a barspoon or two for bitterness, a dry, very bitter amaro will do in the same amount, minus the menthol. Most amari are far sweeter and less bitter than fernet.

Branca Menta

The same house's mint version, at 28% and about 320 g of sugar per liter. It makes the drink minty and much sweeter. If the drink has syrup, it will need less.
