Cocktails with Coconut rum liqueur
Coconut rum liqueur is white rum flavored with coconut and bottled at rum strength, 35–40%, with only a little sugar.
ABV35–40%Koko Kanu and Dead Man's Fingers Coconut Rum are both 37.5%. Malibu, at 18–21%, belongs with the weaker, sweeter coconut liqueurs.

Homemade replacement
Stir 1 part coconut syrup into 6 parts white rum. That lands near 34%.
Malibu-style coconut liqueurs run 18–21%, with about 180 g of sugar per liter. Used one for one, the drink comes out weaker and sweeter, so it needs about a barspoon less syrup for every 30 ml of liqueur.
Thick, non-alcoholic and about 46% sugar. Use about a third of the measure and make up the rest with white rum. The drink turns opaque and creamy.
