History
The Golden Retriever is credited to British bartender Dick Bradsell, who created it at Alfred's bar in London. Bradsell, known for the Espresso Martini and the Bramble, built the drink from equal parts light rum, green Chartreuse, and Licor 43. It was originally served straight up in a martini glass, rather than stirred with water and strained into a coupe as it is often made today. This Golden Retriever recipe also changes the rum and the proportions: 30 ml gold rum, 10 ml herbal liqueur, and 15 ml Licor 43.
