Cherry liqueur is a sweet, usually red liqueur made by steeping cherries in a spirit base.

Substitutes for Cherry liqueur
Kirsch
Brings cherry flavor but no sugar and more strength. Use about three-quarters of the measure and add syrup a barspoon at a time, tasting as you go.
Clear and tastes more of almond than of fruit. The drink turns lighter in color and nuttier.
Storage
Keep an opened bottle closed and out of the light, which fades the red color.
