History

The Eucaliptus is a variation on the Gimlet, the gin and lime cordial cocktail first documented by name in 1928. It replaces the lime cordial with a eucalyptus cordial, giving the drink an herbal, aromatic edge in place of citrus tartness. It keeps the equal parts of gin and cordial that The Savoy Cocktail Book set as the classic Gimlet proportions in 1930.
