History

The Honey Cobbler is a named variation within the Cobbler family with no documented creator. It keeps the crushed-ice-and-straw format of the Sherry Cobbler but swaps the sherry for blended Scotch and red wine, sweetens it with crème de cassis and honey syrup instead of sugar, and leaves out the citrus.

The name "cobbler" itself is thought to come from the cobbles of crushed ice that fill the glass.
