The Autumn Punch is a vodka punch built with fresh passion fruit, pear juice, and lemon, topped with dry sparkling wine and shaken before straining. Tropical passion fruit leads, pear juice softens the edges, and a crisp sparkling-wine fizz lifts a tart lemon finish — an easy sipper for a crowd.
The Autumn Punch was created in 2001 by bartender Max Warner at the Baltic Bar in London, England. Despite its name, the drink is a single-serve modern cocktail rather than a traditional communal punch, built around passion fruit, bison grass vodka, pear juice, and sparkling wine.
Fresh passion fruit, vodka, passion fruit syrup, freshly pressed pear juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and dry sparkling wine, shaken and served in a Collins glass with a physalis garnish. The pear juice and sparkling wine give it its round, autumnal fruit character.
Shaken. The fresh passion fruit pulp, syrup, pear juice, and lemon need the vigorous mixing of a shake to combine properly before the sparkling wine is added.
A Collins glass, garnished with a physalis. The tall glass gives the sparkling wine room to stay lively rather than going flat quickly.
It is vegan, vegetarian, and lactose-free, since it is built entirely from vodka, fruit, juice, and sparkling wine with no animal-derived ingredients. It runs around 250 calories per serving and about 14.8% ABV.
