The Procrastination is a Martini variation stirred from gin, dry vermouth, limoncello and a touch of green herbal liqueur, served up in a coupe. Juniper and lemon oil lead, the vermouth's dry edge holding steady before a whisper of herbal bitterness lingers on the finish.
The Procrastination is a modern gin cocktail created by Paul Clarke, a Seattle-based drinks writer, who published the recipe on his blog Cocktail Chronicles on June 29, 2005. The name plays on the drink's slow, contemplative stirred preparation, blending gin with dry vermouth, limoncello, and a small addition of green Chartreuse. It later appeared in Clarke's 2015 book The Cocktail Chronicles: Navigating the Cocktail Renaissance with Jigger, Shaker & Glass, which collected recipes and essays from his years of writing about the craft cocktail revival.
London dry gin, dry vermouth, limoncello liqueur, and a small amount of herbal liqueur such as Green Chartreuse, stirred with ice and fine-strained into a chilled coupe. It is garnished with an expressed lemon twist and comes in at about 33.6% ABV.
A coupe glass, served up with no ice, since the drink is fine-strained before pouring.
