- With no juice in the mix, the shake does all the chilling and watering down. Give it a hard 8–10 seconds, or the shot tastes hot and syrupy.

The 57 T-Bird Shot takes its name from the 1957 Ford Thunderbird, a car nicknamed the "T-Bird" that became an emblem of 1950s American teenage cool, later celebrated in the Beach Boys song "Fun, Fun, Fun." Its creator and date are undocumented; it circulates as a standard modern shot recipe in bartending guides, with variants adding a splash of juice known by regional nicknames such as "California Plates" or "Florida Plates."
